Description

Storwartz was one of the largest mining areas in the Røros region. Nyberget Mine was in operation between 1650–1717 and 1861–1890.

Olav`s Mine, much younger, opened in 1936. Mining technology developed greatly over time – while the extraction of copper ore in Nyberget Mine started with firing, hammer and chisel, Olav`s Mine was mined with pneumatic drill and dynamite.
