Furuhaugli lies sheltered on Dovrefjell, 1007 meters above sea level. Located in a serene birch forest, away from highway E6, this place is relaxing for both mind and body.
There are 29 large and small cabins, 40 caravan pitches, washing facilities, café and reception, dining room, lounge with fireplace, bar and TV lounge. Some of the cabins, the washing facility and cafeteria are wheelchair accessible.
Around Furuhaugli there are loads of great places for outdoor activities, and local guides who can take you on a musk-ox safari or other fun adventure in the countryside. If you prefer exploring alone, you’ll find marked hiking trails into the mountains. There are several good fishing lakes in the area and hunting grounds for small and large game. In winter, you can take on your skis right outside the cabin!
With a tradition of hospitality since 1930, we strive to offer a complete holiday package and are open throughout the year.
Since Furuhaugli has been under continuous development for decades, we have a wide selection of cabins. Everything from simple two-bed camping-cabins, with basic cooking facilities and fridge, for guests with their own sleeping bags, to larger cabins with several bedrooms with made-up beds, kitchen, living room and bathroom with shower / WC. We have accommodation to suit most tastes and budgets.
We have space for around 40 caravans and motor homes. Some of the sites are particularly suitable for tents. We have a disposal area for portable toilets and a place for washing your car. The washing facilities include ladies and gents toilet, sink and shower, and family bathrooms, also suitable for wheelchair users. There’s a kitchen with stove, microwave, dishwasher and fridge / freezer and in the basement there’s a laundry room with washer, dryer, sink and a solarium.
Open from 08.00 – 22.00 in the summer, 12.00 – 20.00 in the winter or with extended hours for special events or at weekends.
In our cafeteria we have seating for 50-60 guests and serve delicious food such as our famous sour-cream waffles and our flat bread, which is served with all main meals. In the summer we fish in the local mountain lakes and serve our catch to our diners the very same day. In autumn we hunt for game and, if the hunting is good, we can have wild moose and reindeer on the menu right up until summer.
We also have a wide selection of traditional dishes on the menu and some international cuisine. It’s wonderful to sit in the sunshine with delicious food and drink, whilst admiring the views from our terrace.
We can cater for for large and small groups. Each year we are visited by (literally) coach-loads of guests and in the cafe and lounge can serve up to 75 guests. Please contact us for more information and prices.
Function room / Lounge / Bar
In addition to the dining room we also have a lounge with a fireplace, TV, music and bar, for up to 50 guests. Together, these localities offer a complete package to our guests. After enjoying an excellent mountain meal in our dining room, move to the lounge for coffee, cognac and liqueurs in front of the crackling fire. Throughout the evening, drinks can be served from our fully-licensed lounge bar. In the last few years we have hosted several christenings, confirmations, weddings, anniversaries and other family gatherings.
Hot-tub and lavvo
Our jacuzzi hot-tub is extremely popular in winter and can also be used during summer. In the troll’s forest there’s a Sami tent with benches and place for a bonfire outside. It’s the perfect place to work-up an appetite for dinner or before a soak in the hot-tub.
There’s a play area for kids with slide, swings, climbing wall and sandpit. They can also borrow a badminton set, a football and goal, hockey set or other outdoor games. In the basement we have a playroom with table tennis, board games, cards and other games.
Reception / kiosk
The reception has a small wall with souvenirs, most of which are handmade at Furuhaugli, as well as a selection of t-shirts, mugs, cards and other items for sale. We normally have a selection of groceries such as milk and bread.
There’s a large-screen TV in the lounge in the main building, with SingStar, PlayStation, TV and movies, with space for around 30 viewers in from of the TV.
