Description

Aukra is the receiving point for gas from the Ormen Lange field, and the largest industrial building ever built in Norway. By taking the trip to Skarhaugen or Ørnhaugen one gets an overview of the gigantic installation. At these viewpoints and and along the paths around Nyhamn harbour, more than 20 information signs are placed that provide information about archaeological discoveries and stone-age dwellings, the whaling industry and the Ormen Lange industrial fairy tale.
