Description

See a different side to life in the Arctic Circle. Summer in Northern Norway is a fantastic time, with the beautiful Midnight Sun on your back you can discover the wildlife and scenery that winter has hidden for 6 months.
Watch as the natural world unfolds before your eyes under the glow of 24 hour daylight. Trekking out from our kennels and straight up into the mountains with some huskies by your side, you will be joined by an experienced guide who can tell you a little bit about Norwegian life in the summer time. On returning to the kennel, you are welcome to spend time with the dogs and relax. You will be accommodated in one of our traditional Sami lavvus, which sleeps up to 6 people, and will enjoy a traditional homemade evening meal and breakfast. The trekking element can be catered to your individual needs, from those who want to pound out the miles to those who prefer a shorter more scenic route. This is a fantastic way to see the country in its summer glory, and get to know the other side of life in this incredible environment.

More about this area

National Geographic recommends active holidays in Norway

National Geographic Adventure recommends Ålesund and Tromsø for hiking, surfing, skiing and biking. And there is more.

Troms

Archipelagos, fjords and mountains create the basis for the vast county of Troms with added colour from the midnight sun and northern lights.

Where to stay in Troms

Sleep in rooms that have been occupied by English lords at the historical Rundhaug Gjestegård, or stay in an exclusive log cabin at Lyngen Lodge.

Where to stay in Tromsø

Tromsø offers accommodation for all budgets, from good hotels to home stays. Charming cabins and campsites can also be found out of town.

Getting to Tromsø and around

No location north of the Arctic Circle is as easy to reach as Tromsø. The city is also the best place to start your exploration of Northern Norway.
