Description

The popular Rondvassbu Lodge, in the heart of Rondane, is surrounded by alluring mountain peaks. The cabin is beautifully situated at the south end of Rondvatnet lake. Right behind the cabin looms Svartnuten mountain and behind that, stretching into the clouds, Rondane’s giant mountains stand one after another – Vinjeronden, Storronden and the mightiest giant of all, Rondslottet (2178 m).

Opening season

Rondvassbu lodge is manned from mid February until the Easter holidays, and during the summer. The rest of the year there is self-catering accommodation (28 beds) in the newly-built cabin. The cabin can be accessed out of season using a DNT key. Rondvassbu Lodge is closed to guests, including self caterers, during the wild reindeer calving season, from 01.05 to 10.06.

Amenities

Rondvassbu Lodge has 128 beds. These are divided into 2-bed and 4-bed rooms and dormitories. Beds come with a duvet and pillow with covers. Please use your sleeping-bag liner or put aside the bedding and use your own sleeping bag. Sleeping-bag liners and bedding can also be rented at reception.

The lodge has hot and cold water in the hall of the main house. It also has 220v electricity, but it’s a good idea to have a torch with you when the generator is switched off at about 23:00 each night. Toilet, showers and drying room are in a separate building.
