Holtaheia is situated in Strand municipality, south in the Ryfylke region. These beautiful heathlands offer memorable hill walking.

In 1961, 39 english pupils, teachers and staff were killed in a tragic aeroplane crash in the Holtaheia hills. There is a memorial cross at the site.
