Norway's only porcelain factory, Porsgrund's Porcelain Factory, is located in Porsgrunn and is known for high quality and innovative design. Visit the factory outlet and make a great purchase.

At the factory outlet of Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik, you will find a wide selection of exquisite dinner and coffee sets, produced at the porcelain factory. Here, you can also take advantage of great prices on B-grade items and seconds, which are only available at the factory. You can enjoy delightful farmhouse food and drinks, as well as a wide range of glassware from Hadeland Glassworks and a kitchen department with products from Christiania Glasmagasin and others.

Next to the factory outlet, you will find the Auction Hall, which sells used porcelain, and the Porcelain Museum, a modern museum showcasing the history and over 1,000 objects from the factory's history. Both are well worth a visit.

You will also discover an exciting section dedicated to "Norgesglasset," the iconic Norwegian glass jars. You can choose from glass jars for pickling and storage, or pre-filled jars with spices and sweets, as well as porcelain versions of the Norgesglass, handcrafted at the factory.

PORSGRUND is the main supplier of porcelain cutlery and products to the royal family, a tradition that has continued for three generations.

History
It was in 1885 that Johan Jeremiassen established what would become Norway's only producer of "white gold" - Porsgrunds Porselænsfabrik. Today, 138 years later (2022), Porsgrund is one of the few remaining porcelain factories in Scandinavia.

Highly burned porcelain

When you visit the factory outlet, you should stop by the straw painters and see how they hand-paint the popular and traditional straw pattern. The craft production is also well worth a visit, here you see how porcelain is produced.
