Description

The walking and skiing routes in Bømoen are all signposted. You can choose between routes of the following lengths: 1 km, 2 km, 4 km, 6 km, 7.5 km or 10 km. Along these routes you will find signposts indicating the remaining distance to the destination.

Green category: 1km, 2km, and 4km
These walks are categorised as easy and are primarily cover the flat terrain near the river Raundalselva.

Blue category: 5,5, 7,5km and 10km are all of moderate difficulty. These walks follow the 4 km route but when entering the old military camp, the trail continues past the old military hospital and onwards around the airport.

The 10km walk is an extension of the 7.5 km route with steep hills to climb and to slide down during winter. The terrain on this route is more uneven and has many narrow paths.

Distance: 1km - 10km
Season walks: April - November
Season skiing: Desember - March
Level of difficulty: Green (easy) and blue (moderate).
Starting point: Bømoen - Palmafossen. 3 km outside Voss town centre.
Map referance: Maps can be purchased at the tourist information office in Voss.
Comment: Winter is a popular time for skiers in Bømoen. However, it is still possible to walk to Bømoen in November and December.
Please respect that all dogs must be kept on a lead all year round in Bømoen.















The network of illuminated walking/skiing tracks is operated by Sameiga Bømoen. This organisation consists of the following four sports clubs: Bjørgum IL, Viljar IL, Voss IL and Voss Biathlon Club. It is nice to see that so many people use the Bømoen area and hopefully you too will enjoy the many great walks, skiing trails and other outdoor recreational activities on offer.

Trail marking

This hike is signposted and the level of difficulty indicated by colour-coded icons. Green is easiest, blue is moderate, red is demanding, and black is very demanding.

Transportation


By car (5 mins): Follow the Rv13 south from Voss town centre. After about 2 km turn left info Tjukkebygdvegen. Take the first road to the right after the school. Look for a parking place on the right. By bus (10 mins): Take a bus towards Lemme from the stop outside Voss Railway Station. Get off at Palmafossen School. Walk across the playground to the Bømoen woods.
