The winter in Nusfjord is among the most peaceful travel experiences you can find. While this oldest and best preserved fishing village of northern Norway is visited by 50.000 tourists in the summer, very few have realized what an experience it is to go here winter time.

Description

68 degrees north. North of the Arctic Circle, in the land of the Northern Light. The Aurora Borealis is so beautiful out here, a long way from the lights of the town. Quiet, peaceful, snow, but most of the time not very much.

The snow will cover the mountains all the way down to the sea, giving wonderful inspiration to photographers and painters. Due to the warm water of the Gulf Stream, it is never very cold in Nusfjord. March/April is the peak of the seasonal cod fisheries. This is the place for a fishing experience of a life time.

Visit us and try on of our classic fishermans cabins/rorbu. Or you could go for a new, modern rorbu where you can sit in front of the fireplace while resting your eyes on the mountains and the sea outside the big windows.
