Description

The journey from Engjaland to Torvedalshytta is a family-friendly hike following a Tourist Association route marked with a T. Upon arrival at the cabin you are presented with a number of choices. Return home the same day, stay overnight and return home the following day or continue hiking to Gullbrå in Eksingedalen valley.

Hikers can either walk to Engjaland or drive along the toll-road to Reppane. Adjacent to the farmhouse at Reppane is the starting point of the clearly marked T-route leading to Torvedalshytta. The climb up Reppabotn to Mykjedalsvatnet is steep and at 1055 meters above sea level, is the highest point on the hike. A trail leads from Mykjedalsvatnet, down through Mykjedalen to Torvedalen valley. There is a bridge crossing the river Torvadalselvi not far from the cabin.

The Torvedalshytta cabin is one of the Voss Hiking Association’s self-service cabins. The main building was built in 1991 and there are 16 beds, a loft and plenty of nice warm blankets. There is a wood-burner, kitchen equipment and propane gas for cooking. The cabin is stocked with a rich selection of provisions.
