Description

The Norwegian elk are beautiful wild animals. They live in the forest alone or in small groups. They are shy animals and therefore quite elusive. This is our 5th year of running safaris and we now have a good knowledge of where and when to find our local elk.

Time: We meet at the rafting centre in Hessa, Bjelland at 10pm where we give a 15 minute presentation on the elk, their habits and habitat.

Season: July and August are the best months and depending on seasonal variations we may start in late June and continue into September.

Duration: The safari takes approximately 2 hours and we travel about 30km.

Equipment: We will be in the minibus for the duration of the safari so suitable clothing is all you require. You can take binoculars and cameras.

Success: With wild animals we can never guarantee a sighting but we have a success rate of around 95%.

SPECIAL: If you are a group of 8 or more we have a special trip where we visit a mountain log cabin, in the style of the 1900’s, and enjoy some Elk soup and stories from the past. Please contact us for more information and prices on this offer
