Description

Hardanger Music Festival is a chamber music festival taking place every year around Whitsun. The varied programme offers a range of concerts and more. The main focus is on chamber music. Apart from classical music, folk music also plays a part in the festival. The dramatic and beatiful landscape of the Hardangerfjord adds to the uniqueness of Hardanger Music Festival. Composer Edvard Grieg spent many a happy summer in the area, where he encountered local culture and music, which inspired and influenced his works. The main theme of this year’s festival is Vienna 1900.
