Hardbakkhytta is a self-service cabin on top of Hardbakkfjellet. The cabin is located high and open at a small pond with a great view in all directions. To the south you can see a continuous mountain range from the Trollheimen in the east to the Romsdal mountains to the west.

Description

It is easy to locate Hardbakkhytta as there is a marked path all the way. From the parking lot, follow the gravel road up to Botnavatnet lake. The trail continues along the north side of the lake. The last hour goes uphill.

This hike is signposted and the level of difficulty indicated by colour-coded icons. Green is easiest, blue is moderate, red is demanding, and black is very demanding.

Car Follow road E39 through Halsa. At Valsøyfjorden turn towards Valsøybotn. At Valsøybotn follow exit towards Hardbakkhytta. Follow the toll road until the road is closed. Parking lot. Nearest station Valsøybotn Halsa
