Trollheimen is a unique mountain area in many ways. It is located in a boundary area between the coastal and inland climates and has a unique geology. This provides a great variety of landscapes and habitats and great diversity of plants and animals.

The area has been used by humans since the Stone Age and still have living cultural landscape.

Trollheimen provide opportunities for many different experiences. The area has a long tradition of hiking. Hikers will find a well-marked grid and both serviced and unserviced places to eat and stay. It's also has good touralternatives whether you want to go cycling, fishing or paddling.
