Description

This walking route takes you from Voss town center up to Mount Hanguren, and back to Voss. You can choose to walk all the way, or take the gondola up. At the top (the end station of the gondola), 660 m, there is a café open during the summer season, as well as toilet facilities.

Walking:

If you choose to walk all the way you can start by Voss Church in Voss town center, and follow Gullfjordingsvegen past the Tourist Information. Then follow the signs towards Voss Folkemuseum. From Voss Folkemuseum, Mølster, there is a footpath on the right hand side of the parking lot, this goes all the way to Mount Hanguren. It is a relatively steep climb and one should wear comfortable shoes. It takes 1-2 hours up, depending on your physical shape. Going back to the town center, you can either take the gondola, walk the same route as you took up or follow marked trails to Raugstad or Bavallen.

Alternatively, you can drive to Voss Folkemuseum and start the trip there. Follow Ringheimsvegen, signposted towards Voss Hospital (Voss Sjukehus), and continue until you see a sign for Voss Folkemuseum. Then follow Mølstervegen to the end.

Hangursbana Cable Car:

If you choose to take the gondola up to the top, you can either park at the station of Hangursbana Cable Car (there is only a small parking lot), or at the railway station in Voss. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the train station up to the gondola. See more information about Hangursbana here.

Tours from Mount Hanguren:

For a longer trip there are good opportunities for this from Mount Hanguren. One can for example walk to Rødekors hytta (The red cross cabin), Lønahorgi, Raugstad or Bavallen.

Start:

Alt 1: Park in the center of Voss (walk all the way or up to the gondola)

Alt 2: Park at the gondola (take the gondola up)

All 3: Park at Voss Folkemuseum (walk from there)
