Description

Great for adults, even greater for children! With animals, entertainment, activities and experiences for the whole family, Dyreparken is the destination you just have to visit. Dyreparken has more than 140 different species of animals – including lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys and lynx.

In the Zoo there is also a leisure park with the pirate Captain Sabretooth’s World, Jungle Land with Norway’s longest slide, the climbing area Klatrefjell, Båtbasaren with its carousels and fun in a maritime environment, and the farm Kutoppen.

And in 2010 Badeland was opened, an island for bathing with slides, pools, rivers and waves. Now there are two parks and double the fun! The Captain Sabretooth production runs in high season at 23.00.

Ape forest Apes love to swing from tree to tree.
They get plenty of opportunity to do that here. The play continues without interruption in complete freedom. The youngest apes often mingle with visitors - so you might get one on your shoulders or head. But don't be afraid - our apes love nice people.

Animals from all the world
An unbelievable variety of animals can be found in the zoo's lush Sørland forests. Many animals are so rare that we have had to create a modern form of Noah's Ark to protect them. In our Sørland savannah, you can see herds of antelope, zebra and giraffe. We have a sea lion pool, where the sea lions frolic in wild games. Kangaroos, lama, wild horses and Alpine ibexes look out from their various, almost natural habitats.

Some people are particularly fascinated by the poisonous reptiles of the night. Our Tåkeskog contains lizards, snakes, crocodiles and bird spiders in a humid, stifling environment.

We have a circus and an amusement park, log slume, bob run and Sommerøya with pools for both young and old. Kardemomme by Who hasn't heard of Thorbjørn Egner's fantastic little town - managed and kept in a very special way by Aunt Sofie and Police Chief Bastian. At Kristiansand Zoo and Amusement Park, a full-size Kardemomme by has been recreated which has become a great attraction. At some times of the year, you may even risk coming face to face with characters and robbers in Kardemomme by. You could stay here too if you book well in advance.
