Description

Easy stroll from downtown Jørpeland, along the Jørpelandsåna river to the mountain farm Selemork.

You largely follow a gravelled road or a wide path, which also in large part is gravelled. So this is an excellent walk for young children. If you like to walk even less far, you can park at the hydropower station at Dalen, where there is a bridge across to the regular path. Please note that this shortcut is not so suitable for baby carriages as you have to cross a narrow pedestrian bridge.

If you continue on a little bit beyond Selemork, you arrive at Storåsfoss. Just below the waterfall/rapids, there is a nice natural bathing spot. You also get a somewhat better view towards Jørpeland and Stavanger. Above the waterfall, there is a bridge across the river and on the other shore a road goes back down to the hydropower station at Dalen and your car - so you can do a round walk if you like.

Once back in Jørpeland, we suggest a lunch or coffee break at Rosehagen or Verkshotellet, right by the harbour.
