Description

Based on the 200-year anniversary of the Norwegian Constitution, Linda Eide and Sjur Hjeltnes have produced a personal and alternative presentation of the Norwegian national history, allowing themselves to get slightly sidetracked on the way. They embrace both national events and everyday situations, and the show is filled with music ranging from Grieg to the Eurovision Song Contest.

Linda Eide, known for her work as a television presenter and for her humorous approach to life in general, joins forces with the pianist and comedian Sjur Hjeltnes in this unusual musical comedy. In the form of a quirky school project, they argue that the introduction of the recorder into the primary school curriculum has influenced Norwegians just as much as finding oil in the North Sea, and that for most Norwegians, getting a freezer at home was a bigger event than Roald Amundsen’s polar adventures.
