Description

Mastravarden on Hodnefjell located 154 metres above sea level and is the highest point on Mosterøy. The mountain has probably given the name to the island as the name of the island comes from the Latin Mons meaning mountain.  

The views from Mastravarden expands in all directions. Westbound you can follow the coastal landscape that has given the country its name (Norvegr), Looking towards south, east and north - distinctive landscapes can be seen of Ryfylke with its fjords, inlets and lush islands.

The walk from the parking lot at Haugvaldstad, Mosterøyveien, takes about 30 minutes and is suitable for families.
