Description

Let us take you 3000 years back in time. We will visit vacated fishing villages, Moskstraumen (tidal current) and Kollhellaren (cave). With its old cave paintings this is our main attraction on this trip. A fantastic hike along the coast is necessary to get there, so good shoes are required. The natural cathedral we will visit reaches 115 meters into the mountain and is over 50 meters high under the ceiling. The cave is naturally shaped as a cross and was probably used for ritual ceremonies during the Stone Age. In the summer time, when the midnight sun sits on the horizon and shines through the cave opening it creates a magical atmosphere you wouldn’t want to miss.

The cave of Refsvika is a sight in the Norwegian Heritage system, and it is closed for public unless you join our guided tour. A certified guide and an experienced boat driver will be at your assistance throughout the trip.

In the summer season we prefer to start in the evening, when the amazing light from the midnight sun guides us into the cave. The later on in the season we get, the earlier does the trip start.

Participants on this trip shoed be able to walk a fear distance on medium tough natural trail. Good hiking shoes and warm clothes are recommended even on warm sunny days.

A taste of the northern Norway will be served. Please bring some food for yourself.
The trip may be canselled due to weather consditions or if we do not get 6 or more guests. The trip is available for online booking on Saturdays, but we run the trip every day. Please contact us if you prefer another day.
