Hindsæter FJellhotell (Mountain hotel) has traditions back to 1898 and the old timber buildings still exist as an integrated part of the modern mountain hotel. The log walls in the sitting room and the dining-room, the big soapstone fireplaces and the antic farm furniture creates the setting of a nice place for board and lodging. The hotel offers 26 rooms, all of them with showers and W.C., log cabins and nice lounges with marvellous view. There is a room for storing the ski equipments, a room for waxing the skis, a ski museum a bar and a dancing floor, a sauna, as well as a meeting room for 30 persons.

The activity company Upptur has its base at Hindsæter and offers one of the very best and most comprehensive offers of activities concerning nature and culture. Among them are: rafting in the river Sjoa, glacier hiking, canyoning, ice-climbing, moose-safari, snow shoe trips, peak evenings, stand up and narrative theatre based on local stories. Hindsæter is the best and most central starting point for well known experiences in Jotunheimen, like rafting in the river Sjoa and Besseggen. Marked and prepared tracks for skiing and using snow shoes in winter, walking and cycling paths in summer. Close to the hotel you find Ridderspranget and the special Hulderstigen. The mountain hotel has an excellent kitchen and is offering a combination of well prepared meals, good wine, nature and cultural experiences in peaceful surroundings rich of traditions.
