Contact information

With a fishing rod you have good chances getting a nice catch in Vågå and surroundings. Vågå has countless lakes, rivers and brooks waiting for fishermen. You may choose to fish from the shore or from a boat, try fly-or bait fishing, a lure or spinner.
At Grov, on route 51, a dam is arranged for disabled persons.
In the lake Vågåvatnet and the river Otta you can fish for trout, grayling and char. In the mountains you only catch trout, with the exception of lake Flatningen where you also find char.
To go fishing you need a regional fishing licence. There is a special fishing and hunting map, in the scale 1:50.000, covering the Vågå district and Langmorkje Statsalmenning. For more informations, please contact Vågå Fjellstyre.
There are regional licences for Langmorkje Statsalmenning, Finndalen Statsalmenning and Lågen Fiskeelv (zone 8: part of the lake Vågåvatnet and the river Otta, within the boundaries of Vågå municipality).
Fishing licences are sold at many places in the area.
