Åbøbyen in Sauda in Ryfylke. Visit one of Norway`s best preserved townships featuring unique model town architecture from the 1920 in Ryfylke.
The homes were built for foundry workers and were of good standard for their day, with modern conveniences like bathroom and WC. Bluecollar units housed four families, Whitecollar units two.
Managers of course lived in detached houses.
Åbøbyen has many recreational areas with playgrounds, fine parks and sportsfacilities, including tennis courts and an all-year football ground. Enjoy a stroll through this piece of the past!
