Description

Jærmuseet Vitengarden (the Science Farm) is an architecturally interesting building, complete with an activity farm for children. At the science farm visitors shall "learn by doing" – you are invited to be active and explore science and history in new and absorbing ways. Where does our food come from, for how long do you have to cycle in order to burn it off? Do you dare to explore the treasures if the dark bog? How much horsepower do you generate? Explore this and much more at Vitengarden.

Vitengarden is especially devoted to the "green" sciences and provides experiences and information about the cultural landscape, development of tools, agriculture and food production through the ages, with main emphasis on modern-day Jaeren.

Jærmuseet was awarded the "Museum of the Year 2009" award in Norway. The museum also received the European "Micheletti Award 2009", for best technological museum in Europe.
