Description

Lake Totak is approximately 35 km long and its maximum depth is about 350 m. The lake contains char and trout. Its bed consists mostly of sand and stones, and the water is extremely clear and of good quality.

Totak Fishing Association sells permits for ice and rod fishing in the rivers Tansåi and Bituåi, as far up as the Fossemark Falls, and in lake Totak. The precice area covered by the permits is shown on notices where the permits are sold. You are not allowed to fish from a boat. You must not fish closer than 300 metres from a fish-food dispenser, nor close to nets or fish pots that have been set.

Remember!
Fishing is forbidden in two areas from 1 September to 31 October inclusive. These are the area demarcated by the power line from Brattland across Bernes to Lofthus and up the Tansåi to Tansosen, and the area demarcated by a staight line from Sporanes to Åmyri and up the Bituåi as far as trout can run.
