Description

Borgarsyssel Museum has an extensive collection of artifacts and old objects from various periods of time. In addition there are about 20 older buildings showing Østfold's history from medieval to present time.The museum was built in 1924 and is situated at the ruins of the Nikolas church from 1115.
The museum has something for everyone. Children's hour starts at 12:00. From Tuesday to Sunday the "kids yard" (barnas gård) is open. Come and meet our animals and participate in an archeological excavation.
Borgarsyssel museum is open from June 1.until August 31, closed Mondays. The museum is open every Sunday in September, from 12:00 to 5:00 pm. Free admission.
Guided tours:
Tuesday- Friday: Every hour from 11:00 am-3:00 pm.
Saturday and Sunday: Every hour from 12:00-4:00 pm.
Glasshytta Studio Indigo, the shop where to buy hand made glass, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 am-3:00 pm and Sundays from 12:00-4:00 pm.
