Opens June 1. and closes August 31, daily except Mondays.Throughout September open on Sundays 12.00-5.00 pm Free admission.
Borgarsyssel Museum holds an extensive collection of artifacts and old objects from different periods of time. In addition there are about 20 old buildings showing Østfold's history from medieval to present time. The museum was built in 1924 and is situated at the ruins of Nikolas Church from 1115.
The museum has something for everyone. Children's hour starts at 12.00 Tuesdays-Sundays in the «kids yard» (barnas gård) where they meet different animals and/or may participate in an archeological excavation
Guided tours:
Tuesday- Friday:11.00-3.00 pm Sat.-Sun: 12.00-4.00 pm
Studio Indigo , the shop where to buy hand made glass. Opening hours: Wed-Sat: 10.00-3.00 pm
