Description

Join us on this memorable guided tour which includes two fjord cruises , a walk of 5 kilometres in the heart of the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Site, a picnic lunch by the fjord and great nature experiences in some of the most unique fjord areas in the world! This full day adventure is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the Nærøyfjord World Heritage Site`s history, culture and nature and to explore the unique and inspiring fjord scenery that was created by glaciers and rivers thousands of years ago.

The tour starts by boat from Gudvangen, and after a short fjord cruise, you will start the 5 kilometres walk at leisure pace on the historic interesting Postal Path from mid 1600. The walk goes on a well formed, but partly uneven path through charming and peaceful forrests and pastures along the shores of the mighty and breathtaking fjord. The numerous high and snow capped mountains and cascading rivers and waterfalls provide a magnificient backdrop for the walk along the fjord.

On the route the guide will call stops to explain the unique features of the fjord and its surroundings, and from time to time you might spot seals, porpoises and some of the many native birds. By the pristine shores along the fjord you will enjoy your picknik lunch before you end the walk in one of the peaceful farm villages. Here you enter the boat for another fjord cruise back to Gudvangen. Friendly and knowledgeable local guides will ensure your safety and comfort.
