Fantastic highland biking along Blåsjømagasinet - Norway's fourth largest artificial hydropower reservoir. The ride can easily be combined with a hike and an overnight visit to Storsteinen or Hovatn cabins operated by the Stavanger Trekking Association STF.
Høgfjellet, 680 meters above sea level, is one of the highest peak in the outer part of Tingvoll Municipality. It has a relatively steady steep incline on a large part of the trip up. From the top you get an amazing view especially towards the Tingvoll fjord and towards Gjemnes.
From Bjøråskardet you have the most stunning views you can get from any marked tourist route to the mountains around Innerdalen valley. The steep Skarfjell, Trolla and Tårnfjellet with Innerdalstårnet is straight forward and Vinnufjell with snowy peaks and its blue-green glacier to the right. Deep down is the green Innerdalen with twinkling lakes and bright green meadows.
Fjordruta starts at Kvernberget airport in Kristiansund and consists of 13 cottages from the sea to the pristine mountains, distributed along the 150-kilometers-long trail route. The route can easily be divided into shorter trips. Fjordruta has a varied terrain, with trails that follows the coast through the rows of tines out by the sea and the fjord before it goes into the mountains. The travelers will experience big contrasts and breathtaking views of the ocean and mountains.
