Boat trip towards Pyramiden and Nordenskiöld Glacier - Henningsen Transport & Guiding

Please note that due to ice conditions in Billefjorden the ships will not reach Pyramiden before end of May. As an alternative we follow the ice edge hunting for walrus, seals and the king of arctic. The Russian mining settlement Pyramiden was abandoned in 1998, leaving the buildings and infrastructure intact. We pass close by the bird cliffs at Diabas before we reach Tempelfjorden and the cathedral-like mountain, Tempelfjellet. We head towards the Nordenskiöldbreen and whilst you enjoy the view, a warm barbequed lunch is served. We investigate the once so well groomed settlement. We follow the north side of the fjord and can reflect over the tragic winter in Svenskhuset at Kapp Thordsen.
