Homborsund Lighthouse is located on a small island by the coast of Grimstad.
Go for a walk (approx. 3 km) on the former island naval base of Odderøya, now a recreation area, in Kristiansand. Walk on idyllic sign-posted paths with excellent views of the eastern harbour, Cristiansholm Fortress (1672) and the leisure boat marinas. The island has a very interesting military history with remnants of old ramparts, thegunpowder store, an old isolation hospital and other buildings from the 18th century onwards. Odderøya was also used as a quarantineharbour in the 1830s and was the largest quarantine station in Northern Europe.
The walking round Rundetjønn is easy, parts of it on gravel road.
The path follows a hillside above the lake. There are several paths in the area and it’s always possible to alter plans.
