They travelled often to Anne Golid’s cabin in Seljord to hear her stories, which they included in their folk tale collections that are known around the world. The Reverend Magnus Brostrup Landstand, and Miss Olea Crøger hiked through the mountains and forests of Seljord collecting folk songs that we still hear today in Norwegian churches and in Norway’s thriving folk music movement.

Sannidal together with Kil, has the oldest urban settlement in Kragerø municipality. Here you can also find Kragerøs only Shoppingcenter, Amfi Kragerø. Bygdetunet a historical farmyard is located nearby the wooden church of Sannidal (1771).

In Bjørgefjell you can choose from a number of different footpaths through the cultural landscape. The lower part of the route is graded easy to medium, while the final ascent to the top of Mount Bjørgefjell is steeper and more challenging. There are numerous idyllic spots along the way where you can stop, rest and enjoy the panoramic views of Lake Seljordsvatnet.

Gallery Nutheim was opened in 1978. The Gallery exhibits art by local artists. Nutheim Guest House accommodates bus groups and other groups for meals and a look through the art gallery.
