The cross-country tracks at the Destination Gaustatoppen are in varied terrain. Here you will find short circular trails, trails that are light up at night, as well as longer tours that will take you up on the bare mountain.
Fishing for trout with a rod and net in parts of Dyrdalsvatn lake by arrangement with the landowner. It is a good lake to fish, both in terms of quantity and quality - trout caught here can weigh up to 1kg.
Vågslid Grunneigarlag welcomes you to enjoy fishing in their area of Vågslid and Haukelifjell. There are around 70 lakes and tarns here, all within one fishing permit zone, located in high mountain terrain in an area of more than 33,000 acres and at an altitude varying between 800-1600m. This area features some of the best mountain fishing in the south of Norway!
Tveiten Fishermen’s Association offers trout fishing in Tveitevatn (525 m a.s.l.), which extends from Grungevatn to Edland. This nutrient-rich lake contains several strains of trout, making it attractive for both ice fishing and fishing in summer.
Grungedal/Mogane fishing association can offer fishing in Grungevatn lake and the Lonine watercourse. There is only trout in this watercourse, varying in size from 100 to 500g.
Vinje landowners' association sells fishing permits for Vinjevatn and Våmarvatn lakes, as well as for many other smaller ones in the area. There is both char and trout in Vinjevatn and Våmarvatn lakes, but only trout in the others. The record for fish caught on a rod in Våmarvatn lake is a staggering 9.5kg!
This part of the trail is generally easy and straightforward to go , but can be hilly someplaces . Langesund is well worth a visit before heading out onto the trail.
