Join us on an amazing adventure to Tempelfjord, were the Tuna Glacier lies frozen into the sea ice. In front of the towering walls of blue ice, the frozen fjord stretches towards the Tempel Mountain. Ring seals sunbathe on the ice here, and Polar bears are not uncommon!
It has been unusually warm this far in 2014, and as of February there is no fjord ice on the Tempelfjord. As such we are unable to reach the glacier wall in the fjord. This snowmobile tour will still be run, however we will use more time in the area used for hunitng and trapping by 'The King of Sassen', Hilmar Nøis. The guide will also explain and demonstrate different hunting techniques and help the participants imagine life as a lonely hunter in the Arctic.
The trip takes you through the characteristic natural beauty of Svalbard, over wide plains and narrow valleys

7 hours of unique adventure!Travel with your own dogsled to the magnificent icecave, which can only be reached by dogsled. We enter the icecave and in the lights from our headlamps we experience ice as few people has seen it. The still standing air in the cave gives the ice perfect conditions to form fantastic shapes and beautiful colors.
Due to lack of sea ice, we currently cannot drive to the glacier front at Tempelfjorden. Trips to Tempelfjorden will continue, and will last as long as normal trips. For more information about the trip, please contact Poli Arctici: firstname.lastname@example.org
Breathtaking trip to Tempelfjorden, where lies the magnificent Tunabreen glacier. A true Svalbard classic adventure !
Starry skies, moon light on the snow or the aurora lighting up the magical landscape. Join us for an atmospheric experience in the Polar Night!
In the period between November 14 and January 29 each year, a remarkable phenomenon occurs on Svalbard - The Polar Night. During these weeks the sun is at least 6 degrees under the horizon and therefore never shines on Spitsbergen. While the sun is hidden under the horizon, Longyearbyen becomes a magical place lit only by streetlamps, the northern lights and the moon which glitters in the snow. The atmosphere is completely unique, and as you soak in the mystical darkness you will know you are a long way from the beaten track. Don`t forget that during the Polar Night you have double the chance of seeing the Northern Lights!
The reindeer kick in the snow to find their fodder, and the foxes slink around in the dark. We will stop at Camp Barentz where lunch and warm drinks will be served. During the stop we may be able to see the impressive Northern Lights, which, due to the Polar Night, are often visable during the daytime hours.
