Go for a walk (approx. 3 km) on the former island naval base of Odderøya, now a recreation area, in Kristiansand. The island has a very interesting military history with remnants of old ramparts, thegunpowder store, an old isolation hospital and other buildings from the 18th century onwards. Odderøya was also used as a quarantineharbour in the 1830s and was the largest quarantine station in Northern Europe.
