At the end of the Longyear valley, there are two glaciers, Lars Breen and Longyear Breen. Longyear Breen have over thousands of years eroded the mountains and pushed the rocks in to a huge moraine in front of the glacier. It is in these rocks we find 40 to 60 million year old plant and animal fossils.
This mountain hike will make you discover the wilderness through its history.You will face the nature silent; meet Svalbard animal population and have the best view of Longyearbyen. The guide will pick you up at the agreed residence and drive to Sverdrupbyen where the tour starts.
