Join us on an amazing adventure to Tempelfjord, were the Tuna Glacier lies frozen into the sea ice. In front of the towering walls of blue ice, the frozen fjord stretches towards the Tempel Mountain. Ring seals sunbathe on the ice here, and Polar bears are not uncommon!
It has been unusually warm this far in 2014, and as of February there is no fjord ice on the Tempelfjord. As such we are unable to reach the glacier wall in the fjord. This snowmobile tour will still be run, however we will use more time in the area used for hunitng and trapping by 'The King of Sassen', Hilmar Nøis. The guide will also explain and demonstrate different hunting techniques and help the participants imagine life as a lonely hunter in the Arctic.
The trip takes you through the characteristic natural beauty of Svalbard, over wide plains and narrow valleys
Every Sunday we will give you the opportunity to visit Ny-Ålesund. This is a former mining town and also starting point for famous explorers race to the North pole. Roald Amundsen, known as the first person, both to the South- and North-pole, used Ny-Ålesund as his starting point when he reached the pole in 1926 with the Airship NORGE.
With a closed rib the possabilitys are endless. When the other smaller open boats have to stay home because of hard weather conditions we can still head out and experience the fjord. Comfortably, warm and fast we'll travel to where the action is. With our years of experience we'll do our best to give you your greatest nature experience ever!
