"The finest ice-scenery in Europe", said the English mountaineer William Cecil Slingsby about the three wild ice-falls called Lokebreen, Odinbreen and Torsbreen which tumble down from the Jostedalsbreen glacier at the face of Austerdalsbreen. Here you can get just a taste of the wild glacier landscape without having to walk over the glacier itself.

On this walk you will experience a nice view over the Lusterfjord and the mountains of the southside of the fjord. In east you will see the hamlet Optun and the peak Fanaråken.
If you take north from the signpost at the strarting point, you can follow a short and easy trail to the DNT cabin at Vigdalstølen.

A blue ice walk in the middle of the high mountains of Norway where you will get a spectacular view of the western part of Jotunheimen and Hurrungane. On the glacier we do a tour through a landscape of crevasses and blue ice towers. This is a nice all-day hike where the guide will tell you something about flora, geology and glaciers.

Starting from Turtagrø you can get to the legendary Store Skagastølstind as well as Store Austabotntind and Søre Dyrhaugstind among a other peaks that require the use of climbing techniques and equipment.
