Skeikampen, at 1,123 metres above sea level, is not one of Norway’s highest mountains, but it is easily accessible. It takes approx. 1 hour on foot to reach the summit. The trail takes you on a scenic route along the Skeikampen ridge. The view from the top is outstanding, a gigantic panorama of the nearby mountains and the Peer Gynt Road, Jotunheimen and Dovrefjell, the golf course and the area round Skeikampen. The trail is 6-7 km long and takes 2-4 hours. It is a scenic walk which most people can manage. If you choose to go for the summit, there is a steep 350-metre climb over a distance of 1.5 km.
Prestkampen is the highest peak at Skeikampen, at 1,244 m above sea level. From the summit there is a wonderful view of large areas of the Gausdal Valley and Peer Gynt’s Kingdom, and towards Rondane in the north and Jotunheimen in the northwest. This is a more demanding route. The walk is 12-16 km long and takes 4-6 hours depending on the choice of trails. It is a route for seasoned walkers and not recommended for small children or persons without walking experience.

The Skeikampen Rundt trail is around 8 km long, over gently sloping terrain. The trail shows the different sides of Skei, from forest and bare rock to the highest point, with fantastic views of the mountain wilds. From here you can see Jotunheimen in the far north-west and Rondane to the north. The white peaks clearly stand out from the rest.
