Founded in the 15th c., St. George’s was a hospital for lepers until the middle of the 20th c. The present day buildings date back to the 18th c.
The Strand Hotel has the best location in Bergen and the most magnificent view in the city. From many of the rooms you can, among other things, see the famous Fish Market, Bryggen with its characteristic old Hanseatic wharfside wooden warehouses, the inner harbour and Mount Fløien.
