Hike to Flerehei, where you can still find the remains of a dramatic plane crash! On 4 January 1946 a four-engined RAF bomber carrying eight crew crashed during a night training sortie on high ground in Lunde, Sirdal. The entire crew perished but remnants of the aircraft can still be found scattered around Flerehei.
This hike is a fairly strenuous one but the views and the discovery of scattered history at the summit is well worth it.
Breathtaking views over Sirdals moorlands. A challenge, but well worth the effort!
A beautiful half hour trip to the top with superb views.
Visit the wonderful mountains where a troll (according to legend) lived! If you look closely you will find the footprints left by him on the road!
The children who used to tend the cattle here were told to be careful, especially in the dark or during thunderstorms. There is a place in the mountain that is said to be troll country and traces can be found, if you look closely. There is a troll's footprint named "Røsefoten". Infact, legend has it that the troll grew too tall and had to sit, which left a large imprint in the mountain. More markings are to be found in the valley, Tveit Hunnedalen. One in particular is said to be his large rope bag which has left an imprint on the mountainside.
