We head into Advent Valley before turning north over Kreklingpasset and into De Geerdalen. From Elveneset you will enjoy impressive views out towards the mighty Tempelfjellet. The guide will serve warm drinks before you turn back towards Longyearbyen. You will cover about 50km on this trip.
Join us for a snowmobile safari to the closed Russian mining town Pyramiden, in the lovely Billefjord.
The trip takes you through the characteristic natural beauty of Svalbard, over wide plains and narrow valleys
Join us on an amazing adventure to Tempelfjord, were the Tuna Glacier lies frozen into the sea ice. In front of the towering walls of blue ice, the frozen fjord stretches towards the Tempel Mountain. Ring seals sunbathe on the ice here, and Polar bears are not uncommon!
It has been unusually warm this far in 2014, and as of February there is no fjord ice on the Tempelfjord. As such we are unable to reach the glacier wall in the fjord. This snowmobile tour will still be run, however we will use more time in the area used for hunitng and trapping by 'The King of Sassen', Hilmar Nøis. The Russian mining settlement Pyramiden was abandoned in 1998, leaving the buildings and infrastructure intact. We pass close by the bird cliffs at Diabas before we reach Tempelfjorden and the cathedral-like mountain, Tempelfjellet. We head towards the Nordenskiöldbreen and whilst you enjoy the view, a warm barbequed lunch is served. We investigate the once so well groomed settlement. We follow the north side of the fjord and can reflect over the tragic winter in Svenskhuset at Kapp Thordsen.
Spitsbergen Trekking is a five day nature experience, walking among rising peaks and mighty glaciers, with a camp site next to the Svea glacier in Ekmanfjorden, in the west of Spitsbergen.
Spitsbergen Isfjorden Kayak expedition is a six day long journey on the island’s largest fjord. Isfjorden stretches 107 kilometres towards the centre of Spitsbergen, and in order to avoid most of the boat traffic the expedition is plotting its course along the north-western side of the fjord. With its many inlets and seven mighty glacier fronts this is an alluring universe. The silence is overpowering, only broken by your paddle strokes and nature’s own sounds. A curious seal maybe, the noise of hatching sea birds or the amazing sound of glaciers cracking and calving.
