From Nestesessen you can enjoy the best view of the Nigardsbreen glacier.
Spectacular views of the whole of western Norway await you at the cairn. Below, to the west, lies Skåldalen, the shieling for Åsen farm. With its many rocky and snow-covered sections, the ascent of Vangsen is not for the faint-hearted. Vangsen, Jostedalen’s highest mountain, is easily accessible in the summer thanks to the Vanndalsvatnet access road. Vangsen means ploughshare, and when you look at the mountain from the bothy at Mannen, the name makes perfect sense.
