There are many mountains that vie for our attention in the Nordfjord area, but it’s Hornindalsrokken (Rokken) that really stands out.
With her sharp, pointy profile it is almost impossible not to notice this mountain top north of Hornindalssætra. But what does the world look like from her summit? The walk along the rocky seashore brings you closer to the forces of nature, and makes you think why anyone would want to settle here. But once you’re there, with the idyllic seascape, it’s easy to forget about the struggles, and you begin to wonder why they ever left.
