After arriving and checking in at Tinja mountain lodge we will tell you all about the arctic lights and give you a picture presentation. We will take a walk outside the lodge and enjoy beer tasting from our own arctic brewery, or stay inside our lavvo to sample snacks by an open fire. You will learn about the magical blue hours before enjoying a Nordic 4 course gourmet dinner with drink pairing. After dinner we may venture outside again to look for the northern lights. Your day ends with a good night’s sleep in the lodge. In the morning we offer a breakfast in the restaurant before departure, or you can choose to stay for longer.
Join us on an amazing adventure to Tempelfjord, were the Tuna Glacier lies frozen into the sea ice. In front of the towering walls of blue ice, the frozen fjord stretches towards the Tempel Mountain. Ring seals sunbathe on the ice here, and Polar bears are not uncommon!
It has been unusually warm this far in 2014, and as of February there is no fjord ice on the Tempelfjord. As such we are unable to reach the glacier wall in the fjord. This snowmobile tour will still be run, however we will use more time in the area used for hunitng and trapping by 'The King of Sassen', Hilmar Nøis. The guide will also explain and demonstrate different hunting techniques and help the participants imagine life as a lonely hunter in the Arctic.
