Brekkestø was originally a temporary anchorage, also for sailing ships laid up for the winter. The story goes that in winter the ships lay so close to each other that you could cross the sound without getting your feet wet.
Saltholmen Lighthouse - the islets were used early in the 19th century for the extraction of sea salt. Lighthouse from 1882, manned until 1952 when it was automated.
