Dining in Innherred

Along the route "Den Gyldne Omvei" you can buy and taste farm products based on local recipes. Make sure you try the local dish called "Inderøy sodd".

The casserole called "Inderøy sodd", also known as "Innherred sodd" or "sodd og skjenning", is a meal fit for a feast that comes in different varieties. You can buy it at Inderøy Slakteri (a butcher's shop) in Inderøy.

Inderøy is also known for The Golden Route, an interesting stretch comprising 23 small businesses and sights.

Enjoy a cup of coffee and a warm cinnamon bun at Kanelstua, a retro café in Levanger, or sit down at the outdoor café in the old prison yard at Gallery Fenka.

In Steinkjer, we can recommend a visit to Brød & Cirkus. They serve lunch and tapas with appropriate beverages.

If you wish to experience authentic, everyday Norwegian fare, check out Husfrua in Inderøy. On the same hilltop you will find Øyna Parken, with great views and a menu featuring ingredients from the eight municipalities around the Trondheimfjord.

The hotels in Innherred all have restaurants offering à la carte, where local ingredients and flavours are important. At Stiklestad Hotell you can enjoy dinner in historic surroundings.
