At Namdalseid in Nord-Trøndelag (about 30 minutes north of Steinkjer by car), a stop at 2Mrom is highly recommended. The two ladies who own the shop, Tone and Ane, make Sami-inspired handicrafts and glass artwork. Several local craftsmen and artists have studios and outlets along the route. In Nærøy, not far from Kolvereid/Rørvik, you will find the Strandval pottery, and in Sandnessjøen the local artist Turid Grov.
In the centre of Brønnøysund, stop at the local food store Lokalmatbutikken. They offer a wide range of products from the Helgeland region. Just a few minutes further north is Hildurs – a local farm shop specialising in herbs and meat products.
Enjoy freshly roasted coffee at the Kaffebrenneriet (the coffee roasting factory) at Forvik in Vevelstad. In the café you can also buy quality olive oils.
