There are a number of opportunities to visit farms in Asker and Bærum, with activities for the entire family. Here, children accompanied by adults can experience Norwegian farm animals along with more exotic species such as lamas, alpacas, highland cattle and donkeys, to name a few.
Bergvang farm, Vestre Bjørum and Sæteren farm are all well worth a visit. These are open to the public on Sundays, and accept group bookings on weekdays.
Experience an unusual train ride on Norway's smallest steam locomotive, built in 1904. Lommedalsbanen is a special museum for narrow-gauge railway stock from the areas of construction, industry and defence across Norway. Lommedalsbanen can also be hired by schools, kindergartens, private parties or companies for special events.
The train is fully operational on Sundays in June, August and September. At Christmas time there are trips for the children to go see Father Christmas.
Why not do some shopping in historic surroundings? At Bærums Verk, shopping, crafts, history and culture are woven together to form the basis for activities and cultural experiences including glass blowing, a smithy, galleries, handicrafts, design, specialist boutiques, a stove museum, sculpture park and historical outdoor theatrical performances.

Bærum Kulturhus operates a number of stages and venues: "Store sal", "Foajescenen", "Sandvika Teater", "Musikkflekken" and "Lille Scene". Bærum Kulturhus should be your first choice whether you are looking to experience artists at an international level, or would like to experience your favourite artist in an intimate venue. Here you will often find big names within music, song and dance.
