TusenFryd Amusement Park
Go for a ride with Speed Monster - Scandinavia's most spectacular roller coaster. This is an awsome experience for everyone who dares to try it. It is built in steel and the theme is racing cars. The acceleration (0 - 90 kilometres per hour in 2 seconds) is actually faster than today's Formula 1 racing cars.
There are also more than 30 other rides and games, a water park, more than 20 restaurants and a special area for the youngest children.
TusenFryd lies approximately 20 kilometres from the centre of Oslo. A bus departs from Oslo city centre to the park on all days the park is open.
Oscarsborg Fortress
Oscarsborg Fortress lies like a jewel in the Drøbak Sound and is perfect for families and for those interested in nature, culture and history. Oscarsborg Fortress Museum presents the history of the place and organises guided tours. The fortifications are a central part, as is the story of the sinking of the German cruiser Blücher on 9 April 1940.
There are plenty of activities for children, for example a safari through the subterranean tunnels below the fortress, obstacle courses, candle making, swimming in the Oslofjord and crab fishing.
Follo Museum
The open-air museum consists of buildings and antiquities from Follo. Changing programme of exhibitions. Bookshops specialising in local history. Guided tours, activity days and presentations. Roald Amundsen's home "Uranienborg" is a Swiss style villa and was the artic explorer's home from 1908. The house stands exactly as he left it when he departed on his last expediton in 1928.
The Norwegian Agricultural Museum
The Norwegian Agricultural Museum is dedicated to contemporary agricultural history. Children´s department, museum, shop, café. It is situated in the garden at the Norwegian University Of Life Sciences in Ås; one of the largest and most impressive neoclassical gardens in Norway.
Ramme Gaard
Visit Ramme Gaard; an eco-cultural farm in Hvitsten. Exciting cultural programme, with concerts, festivals and exhibitions. Garden days, market days and Christmas market. The café at Ramme Gaard serves home cooked food and the chance to buy organic produce.
Drøbak Aquarium
Drøbak Aquarium lies by the banks of the Oslofjord in the charming little town of Drøbak. It is the only salt water aquarium in the region. The family attraction boasts more than two dozen tanks and pools. More than a hundred species of sea creature make up the rich fauna of the fjord, and you can see examples of most of them here. The aquarium has a touch pool where children can handle some of the sea life on display.
Tregaarden's Christmas House
Drøbak is the only all-year Christmas town in Norway, with Tregaarden's Christmas House and the Father Christmas' Post Office. The Christmas House is open thoriughout the year. At Tregaarden's Christmas House you can buy Christmas cards and decorations. Get your Christmas cards stamped with Father Christmas' own postmark at Father Christmas' Post Office.
